I am a figurative artist who paints portraits, self-portraits, and still lives and interiors with a human presence.
My aim is for my paintings to possess a quiet timelessness — not simply to capture a temporal moment like a photo, but to convey something more comprehensive and enduring.
I try to achieve this by creating a balanced, often formalised composition; the painted surface is smooth, without the agitation of brush marks; and I use a subdued palette.
